Father's Day

Snuggling up on Justus' bed. I caught him teaching Brooke her letters!!
Snuggle time with Dad.
Someone in this picture needs a pitch fork.
Boys...give them something and they jump off it.
Asleep with "Helmo" (her word for helmet). I laugh every time she says it...I figure if Elmo had an evil twin brother that would be his name.
Girls are totally nature. Brooke loves playing with makeup brushes.

School. Brooke is left handed.
Justus reviewing the letter Aa and its sound. Almost time to read!
Oh wait...now she is right handed.
Justus' last ice skating lesson
This is what Brooke did at every lesson: Eat.

For Father's Day weekend we surprised Dad with a weekend camping trip to Lake Jennings. While it was a surprise in us actually finding a site that weekend, it was also a surprise when I got there and we found out how much stuff I forgot to pack: Brian's sneakers, a lighter, extension cord, lanterns, screwdrivers and so much more. Needless to say we did not get off to a good start especially since the ground was so hard we were breaking our tent stakes...but the Kudrle's are more than overcomers and we made it work, got the tent up, and took a quick ride home the next morning to grab some necessary materials that I forgot to pack. All in all a GREAT weekend for a GREAT Dad.
Renting a boat for the day and trotting around on Lake Jennings

Justus wanted to paddle the boat more than he wanted to fish. We explained this wasn't necessary because we had a motor, but he didn't care. So there we were in the middle of Lake Jennings going around in circles. Good thing my morning sickness wasn't bad that day!
Looking at the water
None to happy right now...

At the camp site they called this Hillbilly golf...we know it as ladder ball
Brooke taking a nap after a long morning on the boat.

Some mandatory down time of chillin' in chairs b/c Mom needed a break!
Helping Dad build the fire
Justus LOVED the S'MORES!
So Brooke was diggin' the S'MORES until she realized that there was chocolate secretly hiding in the center. Once she found that it was game on...total abandonment of the cracker and marshmallow--threw it to the ground and only ate the chocolate.
We were totally hooked up (after a trip home because Mom forgot so much stuff, like something to light the fire with! Thankfully the site I found was only 20 minutes away!) We had WiFi and electricity, so yes, those are Christmas lights in there!
Little adult snack after the kiddies went to bed. We are such camping rockstars: boiling water and making hot chocolate over camp fire. We may not impress you with our skills but we surely impressed ourselves!
Ahh the face of accomplishment!
Snuggle time
Last fire is dwindling down
Making Sand Castles while we take the tent down
I can't help but just laugh at this picture. Poor girl is so tired and has such bad hair!

Apparently 2 days of camping is all my little Ronita can handle!
